COVID-19 Update Coming Soon: Telemedicine by ACH
Advanced Care Hospitalists to launch telemedicine program; patients continue to receive access to needed care during time of COVID-19 pandemic.
As our community and our nation continue to navigate the serious challenges that COVID-19 presents, Advanced Care Hospitalists would like to take a moment to remind our patients, partners, providers and community members that we stand with you and are continuing to take extraordinary measures to ensure that access to essential care will continue without disruption.
As a hospitalist group, managing all aspects of treatment – from the time you are admitted until you are discharged – we provide around-the-clock care in a number of hospitals and facilities. Our patients and our providers are at the heart of our business, and as such, we are continuing to monitor the COVID-19 outbreak, and are taking the necessary precautions to protect the safety, health and wellbeing of all. We are diligently working and coordinating with all specialists and departments within our hospitals and nursing facilities to implement telemedicine visits for our patients and providers. Our goal is to have all telemedicine stations up and running as soon as possible.
The introduction of telemedicine to our facilities will serve as a great tool of protection to our physicians and the community support staff, who are bravely serving on the front lines during this time and always. Not only will our rollout of telemedicine help to alleviate scheduling due to heavier than normal patient volumes, but our practitioners will have less opportunities for possible exposure to COVID-19 and other viruses. In short, it is our hope that the implementation of this program will help to create safer workspaces across the facilities we serve, as well as serving as a vital remote resource for our patients, our providers and their teams. Patients with mild symptoms will have the ease-of-access of receiving treatment from the comfort of their homes, or nursing facilities via video chat with a licensed medical professional. If while assessing a patient via telemedicine a physician deems it necessary, he or she can refer the patient to the correct resource(s), which may include sending the patient to a certified testing center for COVID-19, or working with ACH to send a COVID-19 test by mail that would arrive to the patient’s doorstep in 24-48 hours. Over the coming weeks, we will be working closely with our partners, physicians and facilities to ensure a smooth transition to telemedicine, and will continue to see patients in person as presumed necessary.
ACH continues to be committed to high physician satisfaction and excellent patient care outcomes, and is in compliance and coordination with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Florida Department of Health and World Health Organization (WHO). We will continue to track updates of COVID-19 and will report any updates we have. During this time especially, we ask that you follow the CDC’s guidelines for COVID-19 to mitigate risk for spreading of the virus.
We want to thank you for doing your part to help us all stay healthy, safe, and strong. We will make it through this together. If you have any questions regarding telemedicine, our services, or COVID-19 testing, please call us at 863-816-5884, or email us at information@achhospitalist.com.
